P.D.A. for paperless

Post  Bruce on Fri Sep 19, 2008 10:30 am

I was using a Palm T/X but the touch screen quit working. I had Cachmate installed and it was a great program.

I was using Cachemate on my Palm Trio, but when it bit the dust I switched over to the HTC Mogul. It is windows based, phone, and it will take GPX files direct, and I use the voice recorder to save any noteworthy messages about the caches.

Also my Nuvi with the micro update from GSAK works close to paperless, giving me everything but the logging ability. This feature is great while driving from cache to cache.

Now for the Bigdaddy of them all, The Colorado 400t! This bad to the bones Geocaching GPS does it all with authority. Not only can I do direct downloads from Geocaching.com, but I can log the finds, and dump that back into Geocaching.com making logging your finds so much better.

Just to let you know, the Colorado is a great unit, but if you expect it to say Here Is The Cache, you may be disappointed. The antenna is no better than all the others. Just a little heads up. The other features make the Colorado worth every penny.

I will bring it to the coffee break so you can check it out.
