My name is Jeff and BigDaddy Mark is actually Uncle BDM to me. My wife Lisa and I are lucky to be part of such a great family. Mark and I might be the biggest tech nerds in the family so we always have something to talk about.
A friend of mine (also named Mark) introduced me to geocaching a few years ago. I never went on a hunt but registered online. I probably had the longest membership with no finds... about two years. My father-in-law won a contest at work and the prize was a Garmin GPS 76 (a "marine-friendly handheld"). He thought I might like to mess around with it since I like to fish. He was right!
Now, my wife and I grab caches here and there and sometimes I bring friends along to get them interested too. Having Mark involved will surely keep me on my toes and get me out on the trails more often.
I teach high school math at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center. One of the tech teachers was looking for something new to try with the kids... I suggested geocaching. She ordered one eTrex Legend to play around with. Soon, we will have caches placed around the school and on the nature trail. We'll probably have some placed along the Metroparks trail as well. It runs close to the school here in Canfield. Look for MCCTC caches online soon!
